Transferring files via internet

I need to transfer files from an imac powerPC g3 (os 10.3.9, 350 mhz, 576 mb sdram, 60gb hard drive) to an Imac g4 (os 10.3.9, 1 ghz, 1gb ram, 80gb hard drive). The two computers are in two different houses but both are connected to Cox high speed internet.

My problem is that I don't know how to set up so that I can transfer files from the g3 to the g4 through the internet. Make that "I don't have the faintest idea how to begin this task"!

Any ideas anybody?

One easy way would be to log both in iChat, and send the files in archives. It will take a while but doesn't need other than iChat and two accounts to log in (one in each location).
