Question Safari vs Firefox: embedding images in gmail

Hi! i think the performance improvements in Safari 3.1 were great and switched over after using Firefox for years.

I am experiencing some behavioral issues.

In firefox, if I have a gmail compose window up and drag an image to the compose window it just embeds it - it's actually pretty nice.

In Safari, if you drag the same image to the window, it replaces gmail and opens up the image as a URL.

while this might be convenient behavior in some instances, it is not in this case.

Is there a way to preserve the Firefox gmail behavior in Safari?

I tried holding modifiers like Command, option, ctrl while dragging the image and they didn't work.
