Crossover Bug?

I have installled Leopard on my mac for the single purpose of Boot Camp, but unfortunately right now I cannot afford to buy a legit copy of Windows XP. Instead I have installed crossover, and it appears to be running Counter-Strike 1.6 flawlessly.

The only concern I have, is that when I whip the mouse to the right very fast (in order to turn around 180 degrees in the game) the 'windows-style' mouse pops up in the middle of the screen, and it moves about 2 degrees instead. I have absolutely no problem when I whip the mouse to the left. I even violently moved it back and forth as fast as I could, and yet no problems.

Really weird..can anybody explain why this happening? Is there a setting I can change? Is it a bug?

Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot guys

Waiting anxiously,
adrenaline

It might be something with the tracking when you move it that fast in that direction. Have you tried gradiating the amount of speed when moving the pointer to the right to see what might be the "threshold" for the issue showing up?

You can also play around with the mouse tracking settings in System Preferences and see if that helps as well.

Talking

Thanks for the quick reply, and yes I have experimented with the 'threshhold'. However, picture yourself as a gamer for a moment, especially one in Counter-Strike. A split second is the difference between killing and being killed, and if I hear something to my right, my instinct is to whip my mouse and line up the crosshair. If I can't perform this movement or even if I think: "move right a little slower" I'm as good as dead.

I play VERY competitively, and the most frustrating thing in the world is when you do everything right, and you fail because of something you have no control over. ESPECIALLY when you KNOW you would've taken out man1 and man2 had that one simple movement been smoother.

To the average person, I realize this thread sounds totally ridiculous. Sorry, but the only way to understand what I'm talking about is to get into Counter-Strike yourself. (be warned, its more addictive than crack)

Thanks for your input, but I'm still looking forward to more suggestions.

Although it's been a while since I've gamed exclusively like that, I can understand where you're coming from. Precision is key. You could still try and tweak it as best as possible and accustom yourself to the new settings, but it would take time that you might not want to spend. Regardless, I hope that you're able to find the solution you're looking for. For all you know it might mean having to get another mouse (if you're using the Mighty Mouse) or use one that you had from before (unless it's not a USB mouse). Personally, I don't know that I would use a Mighty Mouse for FPS gaming at all....I hope that's not what you're using. Maybe something with a little more precision that is tailored to gaming might suit you best.
