Same Problem

I have the same problem with .dmg files being associated with quicktime. What file should .dmg be assoicated with so i can fix this. I could not find the file "DiskImageMounter" when I searched for it.

DiskImageMounter is found at:

MacintoshHD ~> System ~> Library ~> CoreServices

You should be able to Control/Right-Click the .dmg file and select "Open With" then "DiskImageMounter"

While we're at it you need to do a Get Info on the .dmg file and in the "Open With" section, you need to select DiskImageMounter from the pull-down menu and then click the "Change All" to associate future .dmg files with their correct parent app.

If you can't see the pull-down menu, click the small disclosure triangle to the left of "Open With" to show the information/options.
