How to upgrade a g3 imac (350mhz) to OS X 10.3

My name is Chris and I just bought a g3 imac 350 ( 2000 summer edition) from one of my friends. The hard drive had become corrupted so I replaced it with an 8gb apple hard drive from ebay. I had also bought the OS X 10.3 full instillation cd's to start fresh with a new OS. I also don't have the original cd's that came with the computer. How do I do this?

Here are some specs. about my system:
CPU: 350 MHz
RAM: upgraded to 512 MB
VRAM: 8 MB SGRAM
Hard Drive: 7 GB EIDE drive
CD-ROM: 24x
USB: 2 separate USB 1.1 ports
FireWire: none
Modem: built in v.90 56k modem
Ethernet: 10/100Base-T
WiFi: AirPort not supported
Microphone: internal
Power: 150W

The installation discs you bought, do they have a black label with a large white X on it? It makes all the difference as you need to avoid purchasing Model Specific Discs as they were designed for the specific Mac they were originally released with ... Full Retail Discs are the way to go to upgrade your Mac.

The 8GB HD, did it originally come out of a G3 iMac? (not sure of the relevance but thought I'd ask in case it's important)

Is this HD formatted or is it blank and if formatted, do you know which format was used?

BTW Chris, the HOW-TO & FAQ section is ONLY for posting how-to tutorials, not for requesting help on "how to fix my problem." It's stated in the first sticky thread listed in the same forum section. Common mistake, but only because no one reads the sticky threads.
