Wireless Internet in Uganda Using Celtel

Hey everyone, I'm living in Uganda and I own a MacBook3,1 and I'm trying to find a way to get wireless internet access through one of the phone companies out here (celtel, MTN, UTL). When I went in to ask about it, they said they don't sell modems for Mac and that I need one called Samba (from Nairobi), then I can have internet wherever there is network. I live in a rural part, but I do get network on my cellphones and would really like internet out there. I've also heard that I can change the settings on my Mac to bypass purchasing the Samba modem. I've used my AirPort at various hotels and wi-fi spots in Kampala, so I know that works. I just want to have it wherever I go. Thanks so much for your help; I'm looking forward to staying in touch with the world when I'm so far away!

Thanks,
Becky
