| I am writing here about the dis-appearance of "Compress PDF" option from the print-preview. This feature was available in Tiger and dropped in Leopard. Actually there is a compress PDF feature (either via an applescript that can be downloaded) or using Quartz filter "reduce filesize". However, when dealing with bitmap figures embedded in the PDF, both solutions in Leopard yield very dissappointing results. Whilst in Tiger, the results were outstanding for both file size reduction and maintaining the bitmap clarity. Does anyone know how to get back the "original" Tiger quality compress PDF function for Leopard?

| From the 'Help' menu ...... 1. Open the PDF file and choose File > Save As. 2. Choose Reduce File Size from the Quartz Filter pop-up menu

I have tried this option but the quality of compressed bitmap figures in PDF becomes very bad in Leopard. Whilst in Tiger the option lead to good quality figures.
