Equalizing volume on iPod tracks

Hi and I hope you can be of help!

I recently copied all my music over from iTunes to my iPod classic. Now unfortunately I did not 'equalize' the volume so all the tracks are heard at the same volume level. I haven't got the collection backed up on iTunes due to recently clearing space on my computer/iTunes and want to know if I can copy my iPod collection back to iTunes to equalize then copy them back to the iPod again??
