Computer not responding

I was working on my PowerBook G4 17 inch purchased in 2005 when the screen went blank. I noticed the green light was not lit so I assumed the power supply was bad. The battery light indicated one green light. I couldn't get the computer to respond at all, so it stayed on until the battery died. I purchased a new power supply (which doesn't have a green indicator light) but the computer is still not responding.

I tried resetting the PMU by disconnecting the battery and holding the power button down for 5 second. There is still no response.
