Boot Camp Partition Error

I'm trying to install boot camp (leopard) on my 120gb macbook but every time i hit partition my screen goes gray and says i need to restart my comp (when i restart it says osx quit unexpectedly). this is just the latest of boot camp problems, but here is the list of things ive done:

1. tried to install bc but was given verification failed error.
2. booted up with install disk and repaired permissions and disk. the progress box said volume block count was wrong and it repaired it.
(upon reboot by sys profiler said i had 20 gb more than i had before)
3. restarted and tried to partition 3 more times, every time the screen goes gray and says i need to hold down the power button to restart the comp.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated
