Kern Protection Failure

I'm having trouble reinstalling Microsoft Office. After cutting and pasting something from Excel into Word, Office crashed and I can't get it to open even after reinstallation.

I've run the disk utility, removed the microsoft preferences and put a new Office application from my back-up hard drive. Still no luck. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.
