installing iwork '08 problem

hi

im trying to install iwork '08. i placed the cd in the drive, opened the icon that popped up on the desktop and got the following message

"There is a problem with the expansion destination. The destination folder "/Volumes/iWork '08 Trial Install CD/Packages" is on a locked volume. Please select another destination."

i'm new to mac computers and at a loss for what to do next.

Based on what you say, seems that you are not installing iWork but trying to run it directly in the "read-only" drive it is stored on.

Try installing or copying the application to the hard disk then double click to run it.

This is a tentative answer based on what you indicate, could be totally off however...
