This may surprise some folks since I'm using OS X 10.2.4, complete with doc, but my vote for best shareware goes to James Thompson & his dock, DragThing.

I use the Dock as the reposity of running programs, folders full of documents, folders full of application aliases, etc..

The DragThing doc is divided into 8 catagories with 51 possible applications per catagory. This is where I store things like my communication & networking apps, my graphic & fractal programs, productivity & word processing programs, etc.

This dual dock approach helps keep the Apple dock slim, but also keeps all of my freeware, shareware, and commercial software close at hand. HTH, but YMMV <vbg>

Regards,

Albert

(Al of these are available on VT)

CaptainFTP - I love it.

AmadeusII - Simple inexpensive feature-RICH recording app; I use it to record my oud and bass. If you have an external mixer (which I do) the mono-track recording isn't so much of an issue.

EVNova -

I used to love GraphicConverter too, but since getting Photoshop Elements I've all but abandoned it.

PS Randman, I love iBert too. I asked the author if he wanted French localization, and he told me he's coming out with a new version to download many different cartoon strips, not just Dilbert...

I haven't tried it, but iComic claims it's an offspring of iBert.
