cannot load EPSON printer

1.I have a Macbook and a G4 Powerbook. They sit on the same desk but are not in a network. I do not know how to net work them. I am shortly going to buy a Mac desktop too. I am a photographer. I would like to know the best way to make them all work together so that I don't end up duplicating work and wasting time.

2.I have a new Epson Stylus R2400 printer and cannot load the software and printer drivers on the Macbook without getting all kinds of error messages. I can try again and copy the error messages but it had something to do with being unable to web share ?? I haven't even tried to load the software on the G4 as currently that is not linked to the internet- although this is also something I need to sort out and it sort of linked to Q one.

I THINK the problem may have something to do with a "configuration setting " problem as that is a message that popped up on one attempt. I have no idea what that mean. I did notice that the name Fiona's G4 17 inch appeared in some windows on my Macbook when I was trying to load drivers. I turned the G4 off and uninstalled but that made no difference at all.

Can anyone assist me to get the printer to work.
