Aple Mac Quicksilver start up problem

When I push the start button on the front of the machine, the button illuminates then fades, but the computer doesn't start, but after a time of doing this it eventually fires up.

Is it just a coincidence that this happened after a power cut even thought the computer was shut down at the time?

You may need to reset the CUDA/PMU on the machine. Follow Apple's instructions here and see if the procedure helps:
