| Are you afraid of the Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)? For free you can re-index your Spotlight search (to stop the broken index file Spotlight uses) by opening Terminal and typing: sudo mdutil -E / Just put in your Administrator password in when ask. Let it run until you get another prompt to type (in Terminal). It will take a while (longer depending how big your hard drive is) so let it run before you quit terminal. Good Luck.

| Or you can use OnyX to disable/re-enable it if I remember correctly. |

| Open System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy tab, drag and drop your Home folder to the list. Or just click on the "+" to add your Home folder. |
