G4 keeps crashing

For the last two weeks every time I open my imail application on my G4 tower after 3 to 4 minutes it crashes. I get the screen letting me know that my computer freezed and I have restart.

Go to Applications-->Utilities and launch Disk Utility. Once you launch that, Repair Permissions on your hard drive. Run it a second time to make sure it didn't miss anything. PLEASE make sure that you do this with no other applications running. See if that does it for you.

There's also another tool called OnyX that takes system maintenance even further. Run that if simply repairing permissions doesn't fix the problem. Make sure that you download the correct one that supports your version of Mac OS X installed (which you failed to mention).
