0044 Airport Extreme FTp + ARD

Airport Extreme setup

Remote Desktop Not working - some authentication problem machine 10.0.1.005

I can see the machine from outside the network but then says Authentication failed

FTP different machine 10.0.1.001

I can see the machine via Finder Connect to Server but not using a FTP application such Transmit

Any help?

Some Firewall in the middle?
