Screen flickers during video streaming

I have a brand new Macbook pro 2.4 and the screen flickers while watching videos on youtube and bbc. I downloaded the newest version of Adobe Flash, but the problem still persists. In addition the font on Safari is often compressed and distorted until I resize the font.

Do you have the latest version of Safari installed? There was a bug in Safari that caused it to flicker on some Flash/SWF heavy websites though that appears to have been largely fixed in Safari 3.

All the software is up to date. Interestingly while scrolling on itunes the screen flashes as well. My old powerbook g4 never had any gliches... this is what I was worried about with buying a new mac.

Flickering images

I have this same issue. It seems to affect Flash video in Safari, but also the preview video inside Finder. Also, today, the icons in Entourage are flickering. See the image attached.

When I shutdown and restart, the problem goes away. Ideas out there?
