ibook wont turn on

I put my ibook to sleep yesterday with 30% battery and when I got home that evening and hooked in the charger it still wont turn on. I have taken the batter out and back in. the front light is not pulsing. the button on the back near the batter shows around 30% when pressed. What gives? no engine sound, nothing.
