mpod is on a distinguished road
upgrade osx 10.3.9

I have a old eMac runing power PC G4/ version osX 10.3.9 . Can I upgrade to 10.4.9 and if so will it iterfere with my software?

Sure. Most MacOS X 10.3 software will run on MacOS 10.4. However, there is no way of knowing if you will need to to upgrade without knowing which applications, utilities, and peripherals you are running.

Plus when you get the Tiger disk consider doing an Archive & Install. In the Mac IMHO is the best way to do an OS X install short of an erase and install.
