doctor_cortex is on a distinguished road
different black border error

i m new to macs so i dont know much

i freaked when i saw a black border appearing around icons and dialog boxes etc. this problem also changed my functions ( f11 no longer for volume etc.) so

i checked a few forums and they said that it was a common problem that zoom is turned on. so i checked and zoom was off. the zoom was not the problem as i checked it many times.

I recently removed my office 08 and other ms apps.
is this an adaptation of the common error or more serious?

please assist!

DeltaMac will become famous soon enough
The little black border around icons as you click on different places does NOT indicate that Zoom was turned on (don't know why you would read that anywhere) - - But that your VoiceOver is turned on. You were in the correct pref pane (Universal Access), but looking at the wrong setting.
Turn VoiceOver off, and the black box will disappear.
