no sound after updating 10.3 to 10.5

System Imac G5 (no INTEL) running at 1.8GHz with 512ram
Updated from 10.3 to 10.5.4 and I'm no longer getting any sound. When opening sound preferences, I see only "USB audio CODEC" and no other choices. How do I get my sound back?
