Internet connection w/new macbook

We just bought a macbook 2.4 and we cannot get it to connect to the internet via our home airport (model M8440) that we use for the ibook G4 (OS 10.4) and an old iMac (OS 10.2). The airport is connected to a cable modem via a cat6 cable and works fine with the older computers. The new macbook shows the airport base station but does not connect to the internet. However, it does connect to the internet elsewhere (public wifi) but not through the airport at home. Any suggestions?

Go to System Preferences->Network. Set Location, at top, to Automatic & restart MacBook.

After restart, if it does not connect, ppen the Airport Icon in the top menu bar, and click your Airport when it finishes scanning.
