Unhappy .Mac Webmail broken on Mozilla (RedHat 8)?

I can log in to my .Mac Webmail account once with Mozilla (on my RedHat machine) but only once. After that first time, when I log in, and submit the username/password field I get taken to a blank page (with a big session ID in the URL).

I reinstalled RedHat (for other reasons) and could log back in, once, then got the same problem.

What's going on?

I don't know... when you reinstalled, did you make any changes to Mozilla prefs (especially javascript- and cookies-related things)? Are you running the 1.1 version that ships with RH8, or did you upgrade? Are you coming through a proxy server that might be causing issues? WebMail works on your other machine(s)?

FWIW, I just tried it with Moz1.1 on RH8, and it seems fine; I can login/out as often (apparently) as I like (I tried it 4 or 5 times). I've also been using it (WebMail) from Mozilla on MacOSX and Windows and haven't seen any major (beyond rendering oddities) issues with it...

I know that's probably not terribly helpful, but at least it doesn't appear to be an issue with Mozilla itself, as far as I can tell...

Dang, oh well maybe it's just some quirky thing with my machine, thanks anyway...

I configured Mozilla mail anyway (because I can't get Ximian Evolution to work with .Mac )

Hrm.. That's odd. I was able to make evolution work without any trouble. What kind of problems were you having with getting evolution to work with .mac?

Given that you could get Mozilla Mail working with .mac suggests to me that it's not some bizzare networking issue. Maybe some kind of odd resource constraints? The machine in your sig is barely big enough to run RH8 with Gnome/Evolution/Nautilus. My experience ith RH8 is that it's even more resource-intensive in its default configuration with Gnome than WindowsXP, if you can imagine that. I would double the memory on it, if I could, even if it doesn't fix the truely weird .mac issues you're seeing...

Again, probably not terribly helpful... sorry..

You're right on that account, it is BARELY enough to run RH8 (in fact, I had GNOME running for a week with 64 megs of ram before I shelled out $80 for an extra 64).

Unfortunately that system is maxed out at 128, otherwise I'd definately get more and use it for something useful. I've left it at my parent's house however, so I can just use it for SSH/Mozilla work on my iMac at home (few hundred kilometres away) hehe.

It wouldn't surprise me if it is a resource issue actually; Ximian would update the folder list with a bold number (unread messages I'm guessing) but wouldn't display any messages in the list window (for example, not enough RAM to display them? )

I added RAM and Swap gagues; the RAM was two pixels (including buffers) from the maximum, and swap was thankfully zero. I can run a shell window and maybe mozilla at the same time; otherwise I have to close other things hehe.

PS I managed to get Mozilla mail working, so I just use that, three cheers for IMAP.
