MS Word web layout questions

So I wanted to get rid of those silly horizontal blue lines that seem to materialize every so often when in Draft View (page breaks I guess even though I never inserted them and can't remove them). So I changed to Web Layout. Now I have a large margin on each side of the page? Huh? Any idea why? I used to use Web Layout without any margins before. How can I banish the margins? I want to work in full screen with nothing wasting space. (A concept few people seem to understand in this flowery day and age.)
