Spakman is on a distinguished road
Handbrake and itunes

I'm working with Handbrake for the first time to rip DVDs to itunes so I may watch them on my ipod. I followed the default settings in handbrake, got what seems to be usable files (I can watch them in Quicktime and in itunes). My problem lies in that they won't copy to my ipod. There is a function in the Advanced tab in itunes to "convert selection to ipod", but that seems to take forever. What am I doing wrong? I thought handbrake would provide a file that would be directly importable into itunes for subsequent placement on an ipod for viewing. Any help would be appreciated.

What setting are you using in HandBrake to perform the conversion? And to what format? What aspect ratio? What bitrate (both audio and video)?

If you want a lean and quick way to convert video files for use on the iPod without having to muck around with finding the right settings, try out iSquint from Techspansion. It's free and serves one purpose: to convert videos for use with the iPod and AppleTV.
