Usb not working - powerbook g4 osx 10.4

USBs not working/recognising anything. Thought was printer problem. Not so. Discovered USB issue.

Unplugged all USB devices, re-tried, using one and then other USB slots. Nothing.
Reset permissions in disk utility. Problem same still with me.

Worked out this problem arose after using Lacie hard drive storage. Worked fine, was backing up. Tried to print after, didn;t work, thought communication error, tried all remedies, none wored. Did use power adaptor plugged in to storage device (5V), done so before on another mac, no problem. Have sense might be possible to reset usbs , or at least try, don't know how. USBs don't recognise USB memory stick, mouse, or anything else, done all the unplugging, restarting, hoping....Mac 12" Powerbook G4 MAC OSX 10.4.2.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks
Gregg (greggard)

Any reason you've held back from updating to 10.4.11? It's a lot more stable than 10.4.2 (a good couple of years of bug fixes and other patches under the hood with the latest 10.4.11 Combo Updater).

Also to reset USB on you mac it to unplug USB devices (except keyboard & mouse) and then reset your Pram. This should help.
