ical vcs problem

Hi all,

I've set firefox to handle .vcs files with ical, but the appointments won't load.

First I get a popup that asks me which calendar I want to use.
When I select one I get the nasty error message:
"This calendar file is unreadable. No events have been added to your iCal calendar."

The weird thing is, if I save the appointment as an .ics file, and click it, it loads into ical beautifully.

Does anyone know why I can't accept .vcs files (g-calendar or outlook) but if I rename them they work fine? Can anyone help with a smoother firefox workflow?

Of note, in safari, if I save or choose the .vcs file, it automatically adds the .ics extension and works perfectly.

I'm on a new macbook pro, mac os x 10.5, firefox 3, ical 3.

Thanks.
icaller
