Entourage will not auto send and receive

I just updated entourage by importing accounts, address book and mail. When I attempt to send / receive I get the following error msg.

Your Mac OS Nework Preferences are not configured to allow automatic connections. You can manually dial up first, or you can change this setting in our modem preferences. click PPP Options and then select the "connect automatically" check box.

I utilize a Pop connection via Verizon Fios and not a modem.

Any suggestions.
