    Thumbs down Mac OSX3.9 issues

    Currently trying to reload photoshop on my G5. When I try too, the mac asks for a password (privileges), I add the password then the installer crashes. (??). I thought I'd delete the password for the mac and see what happens, but it won't let me delete it...(says the name is too short if deleted)... does anyone know how to get around this?

    Just check you're using the correct password for what you're trying to do, eg. does the installation require the admin login or the user login? They're not necessarily one and the same. You may eventually need to create a new user account, and for that you'll need the original OS install disks.
    G4 eMac 1.25 GHz, OS 10.4.11

    Yes, I'm typing the correct password (100% sure of that)... it seems to get past that stage (just) then the installer just disappears from the desktop... no errors just vanishes.

    Have you repaired the permissions? (Disk Utility, in Applications/Utilities)

    What shows in Console when you try to do this Photoshop reinstall?

    I repaired the permissions yes... not sure what comes up on the console (never had too much to do with the console).?
