ipod nano g4 and Panther

Hello there,

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 to all of you.

Even around Christmas I have problems with my iBook G4 and maybe somebody is online to answer my question. The last time I posted a request, you answered to my full satisfaction and now I hope that it turns out to be the same.

I use an iBook G4, PowerPC G4 (1.1) with Mac OS X Version 10.3.9. I got a new ipod nano G4. Unfortunatelly the system requirements demand a newer Version of Mac OS X aswell as iTunes Version 8.0 or newer. At the moment I run iTunes Version 7.7.1 (and there is no newer Version for my Mac as far as I have found out).
Mac system requirements for ipod nano G4
* Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
* Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later
* iTunes 8 or later

Do you have any idea how to solve this mess (other than buying a new computer!!)? Is there a way of running the ipod with my Mac?

Thanks ahead and a wonderful Christmas time to you and your families!!
Have a great day.

As I don’t know all the terms in English and which information you need to solve my problem, I copied and pasted some that might help you.

You can try www.yamipod.com ... You won't be able to use iTunes with that nano on 10.3, sadly. You might be able to buy the retail version of 10.4 somewhere on the 'net, but even 10.5 doesn't sound like being too far off. Your processor is quick enough, RAM could be more but should work okay. The question is: Do you require some applications that'd need expensive upgrades in order to run on 10.5?
