Question Mac Mini keeps loocking up

If i leave my computer for more than an hour it locks up completely requiring a restart each time. Even the clock stops. I have also noticed that frequently the clock and the network display disappears from the bar top left of screen. I reset these to display in system pref and click the padlock and they are ok for a week or 2 then disappear again. It is the locking up that is the big problem. Spec is Tiger OSX 10.4.11, Mac Mini 2gb Intel core 2 Duo. Hope someone can help, thanks in advance.

I managed to get this resolved and for the benefit of anyone else with similar problems, disconnecting EVERYTHING from the Macmini for 30 seconds, then just the power cable and start up, then power down again, reconnect everything and away it went. The problem has not so far reappeared.
