iChat download for iBook G4 with MAC OS X 10.3.9

I am trying to see if I can download and install iChat onto my iBook G4 with MAC OS X 10.3.9. Does anyone have a link to download this? Do I have to upgrade my operating system? I just bought a 3rd party web cam and it only seems to work with iChat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

iChat is not a separately downloadable application. It comes bundled with Mac OS X 10.2 and later, and in case of 10.3 your system should already have the appropriate version of it installed in /Applications folder.

If the application has been deleted and/or can not be found, you can extract iChat application from you Mac OS X system disc (the CDs or DVDs the Mac came with) with e.g. Pacifist http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/12743
Or you can alternatively find someone with the same version of Mac OS X, in your case 10.3.9, and copy the single application from that system, placing it to /Applications. iChat from newer versions, such as 10.4.x or 10.5.x will not run on 10.3.9.
