DVD Player crashing

Hello sirs,

I am writing to you because since upgrading my Powerbook G4 to 10.4.11 (from 10.4.9 by combo update) Apple DVD Player 4.6.5 has stopped working.

It will launch for 3 seconds and crash each time. With or without DVDs.

I never had problems with it before.

I trashed the appleDVDplayer.plist file in the Preferences folder without results. I also repaired permissions many times.

The drive does read the DVD. It mounts and shows in the desktop.

Do you have any suggestions?
