MrSasquatch is on a distinguished road
I don't know what to do about this.

I have a Macbook Pro, OSX Leopard Installed. Last week Finder stopped working. I don't know why. So I saw a Mac Genius today and they said to do a Archive Install of Leopard again. I was doing it and there was an error saying it couldn't install. Now I don't have the hard drive space to try again, I don't have a backup of my current hard drive, and I'm not sure what to do. Is there anyway I can backup my files without getting onto the normal desktop? I can't even get past startup now. I can only do things if the install disc is in.
