Quickbooks won't open qbx statements

Hi. I have Quickbooks Pro 2007 for Mac and I am not able to open Amex statements that I have downloaded in qbo format. I get a message that says "Quickbooks cannot open files in the 'Quickbooks Web Connect File' format."

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Jennifer

This is a know problem/FEATURE of Quickbooks 2007 for Mac. Intuit has opted to have unique formatting of the QBO for Mac that is different from the standard Windows version. Only sites that specifically list QuickBooks for Mac as a download option, create the correct file format for the Mac.

I created a quick apple script to reformat the QBO file from the Windows version to the Mac version. It works for most banks. Give it a try. It is saved as an APP but if you want to see the code, just open it in the Script editor.

NOTE: This fix does not work for Quickbooks 2009 for Mac.

Good Luck
Gary
