Unable to boot powerbook g4 laptop into darwin

URGENT!! Can anyone please help????

After a system software check, i hit restart as prompted and my powerbook would no longer go to the login screen and boot up. Instead it starts and goes to the login screen but the login box appears for a second and disappears. Then the screen goes blue and nothing...

When I start it up in safe mode, it does the same thing except this time it continues to a black screen with this message on it:

Loginwindow 613: AuthorizationRef doesn't have a username(<LoginAuthRefMgr: 0x33cb50>). /n

I've been told I need to 'restore the netinfo database after authorization failure' which I tried, but once I did that it kept repeating this message:

**Checking Volume Information
**The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK
**Localhost:/ root# fsck -fy
**/dev/rdisk0s3
**Root file system
**Checking HFS plus volume
**Checking Extents overflow file
**Checking Catalog file
**Checking multi-linked files
**Checking catalog hierarchy
