Issue with Messenger for Mac

I've been using Microsoft Messenger 7.0.1 for a while now (several months) with no problems. I recently backed up some history files, but didn't change anything else. However, now when I type a message and hit the return key, the message sends, but then the focus moves out of the window (meaning the blinking cursor doesn't stay in the text box, so in order to type another message I have to click into the box first). This is more of a nuisance than a real problem, but I use the app very often, and so to have to do this over and over is really frustrating.

Any ideas?

I have had this with text boxes on FF and Safari as well.

Very frustrating, particularly if you are typing--JUST HAPPENED AGAIN!--a long paragraph.

i found the solution! uninstall Safari 4 Beta!

"Messenger (both MSN and Yahoo! varieties) uses WebKit. WebKit is the engine that renders web pages etc for Safari so the new Safari 4 will have included a new WebKit version as well.

You'll probably have to wait for MSN/Yahoo! to release an updated version compatible with this version of WebKit. "

And I have Safari 4 Beta and it doesn't happen to me. I don't use MSN, though. Get rid of that instead. :P ... Could it be another thing? A trackpad issue perhaps?
