import error

I keep getting a hung up while going to internet sites . I keep getting this log note:

ImportError: Bad magic number in /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.3/lib/python2.3/string.pyc

I have Comcast as a provider and I'm running 10.4.11 . Can someone help?
