new mac convert/beginner at dreamweaver - General knowledge?

I'm fairly familiar with various coding languages and debugging(or so i thought). i recently bought a flash template and originally edited it on a pc. I had changed it a few times using dreamweaver cs3 and everything was awesome. Then i bought an imac 08' 10.5.4 and transferred my files. After altering even one letter from the original downloaded xml file in dreamweaver(cs3 mac), it causes major problems. The template will have missing words and pictures. The only thing that is different is the computer. Im testing it online (after cache cleans)and on my desktop, no difference. The original file works until i alter it, even one letter. I would greatly appreciate any help or advice! Thanks!
