Multiple simultaneous issues in 10.4.11

Hi.

My iBook G4 recently suffered from multiple problems at the same time, and I am unsure what to do. I am running 10.4.11 on a Power PC. Unfortunately I do not have the system install disk available, so that remedy is unavailable to me right now.

Over the past couple of days, different problems have seemingly solved themselves, but others remain.

At this point there are two significant symptoms:

1. Font has changed.
2. All pull-down menus are blank-- when I mouse over, they all turn blue, but no words appear. In addition, whenever I mouse over where certain commands would be, nothing happens. As a result, I cannot quit programs or modify any settings.

Yesterday I had some additional issues, but they seem to have resolved themselves. These include:

1. Dock disappeared from view.
2. Computer did not recognize internal speakers and defaulted to mute.
3. Every time I tried to open my computer or HD, the window closed with no action.
4. Startup took a long time, and shutdown would not take place.
5. On login screen, nothing was visible as I entered my password.

I am not sure this is relevant, but my problems appeared to begin when I downloaded the updated Firefox.
