Need to change file's "kind".

Hi. I've been working on Macs for many years but have never had this problem before.

Some Pro Tools audio files I was working on mistakenly got changed to BBEdit Text Files. Now Pro Tools can't use them. How do I change them back? I tried changing them in the "Get Info" command by changing the programs that opens them. That just changed the mini icon at the beginning of the files title. It didn't change the file's "kind".

I know there must be a way. Thanks, I can use all the help I can get on this!

Jason

Ok. I figured it out. Most of the files are opened with Quicktime. So, if I go from BBEdit to Quick time in the "open with" command in "get info". I have a problem. The icon at the beginning of the title changes correctly but the "kind" remains the same.

If I first change the "open with" to Pro Tools, then click "change all". Then, from there, change it to "quicktime" and click "change all". It changes the kind to Sound Design 2, which is correct.

I don't know why this is, but thanks for the response.
