Poor Display

Mac Mini G4 1.42Ghz

Display is fuzzy and ghosting

Have changed monitor - no improvement

Also monitor lead and VGA adaptor

Any ideas

The video port is built-in to the logic board. If you tried a different display, and a different display adapter, then what you have left is the logic board.

I suspect the logic board is bad...

This may sound too simplistic, but I've sometimes found that the pins on a video connector have become dirty/corroded and cause the problem that you are experiencing.

You can find connector cleaner at an audiophile stereo equipment store, or you can even use this product from Radio Shack:

apply it to the pins of the connector, plug the connector in and out a few times (with your Mac OFF), let it dry, and then try it.

Often that will do the trick.
