Mac OS X HFS+ partition error
I have 3 hard disks:
holds one NTFS data partition (700GB)
holds one NTFS partition that contains XP (200GB),
one ext3 partition holding Kubuntu (100GB) and
a swap partition (4.5GB)
holds an HFS+ partition with Mac OS X (120GB)
XP and Kubuntu boot perfectly with grub. When booting Mac, I get: "HFS+ partition error". I tried the following:
1. Mark the Mac partition as active and as bootable. I tried
doing that with Gparted, fdisk from Kubuntu, fdisk from
Mac's installation cd and DiskPart.
2. Tried to install Mac on 120GB of unpartitioned space.
3. Tried to install Mac on a 120GB FAT32 partition I created
with Gparted. Formatted it with Mac's installation CD
and installed the OS on it.
4. Tried rootnonverify in grub's menu.lst
As you guessed, nothing worked.
Let me just note that my hardware is compatible with Mac OS X because I had it boot in previous settings before.
Anyone has a clue?

What specific model of Macintosh is it?
Look, I'll just be straight up front with this: if it's a "hackintosh," (I'm sure you've heard that term before), then we can't help you. Nothing personal; it's just against the board rules. There are a ton of sites on the internet that are available for help in this area -- unfortunately, this is not one of them.
If that's a completely incorrect assumption on my part, I apologize... if you could elaborate on the specifics of your setup (Mac model, OS X version, etc.), then we'd be glad to help.
Typically, a "HFS+ partition error" means that you likely have "overlapped extents" or perhaps directory and/or partition map damage. You can verify this by booting from the OS X Install/Restore CD/DVD (with the disk in the drive, reboot the computer and hold 'c' to boot from the CD/DVD) and using "Disk Utility" to verify/repair the integrity of the partition.
