Quickbooks 6 not allowing access

its not allowing me access on a networked computer. I have accessed many times before but now i'm getting an error message that says:

The document “CM 2007.qb2006” could not be opened. Your Company file is locked or read-only. Please unlock it before making changes.

please help! how do i unlock???? again, have been able to access file many many times before.

Please describe your "network" setup in more detail. Is the file hosted on a Mac OS X machine -- an XServe? Or is it hosted on a Windows server computer? Over AFP? SMB? NFS?

Quickbooks is also notorious for locking out Quickbooks software that hasn't been updated to the latest version. I know at our office if one person upgrades their Quickbooks and opens the company file, that others that try and open the company file will be unable to until they also upgrade their Quickbooks software to a version equal to the initial Quickbooks computer...
