| merging multi-page pdfs in preview
I have read on a lot of forums that it is possible to merge AND SAVE multi-page pdfs with preview. I can get all of the images I want, but when I go to save as pdf in the print menu, it only shows ONE page. I have seen tutorials online and I have followed them step-by-step (I have Leopard 10.5.6), and simply cannot make this work - it will only save one page. I have Adobe in my parallels but I absolutely loathe opening it because it brings my computer speed down to a crawl. Please, if someone knows of a workaround for this, let me know! I am taking tons of screen shots and trying to merge them as pdfs in a quick way so I can send back and forth with my web designer. |

I found that by selecting all the images in the preview side-bar, then performing a "Print" operation (ensuring that it says "Pages 1 to 3" or whatever), I can print a multi-page PDF document using the "PDF" button in the lower left-hand corner of the print window. You may have to play around with the page size settings a little bit.

Wow, thanks for the great tip. I was doing everything except actually except selecting all of the images in the side bar. Worked like a charm. Thanks.

You may not need it at this point, but I really like this free utility for merging and arranging several PDF's into one document: PDFMerge-X (free, donations accepted) http://www.malcom-mac.com/blog/pdfmergex/ combine, transform and reorder the pages in your pdf documents
