Question iPod Touch not recognized after update to 10.5.7 on G5

I just updated my G5 (iSight model) from Tiger to Leopard yesterday. Today when I went to dock my iPod Touch and sync it with iTunes, my iPod was not recognized at all. I've tried everything short of reinstalling the software (which I really don't want to do for fear of screwing up something even worse!) such as turning both the iMac and the iPod off and back on again and reconnecting them, I tried every USB port on the back and did the disk utility just to make sure nothing was wrong there. I'm out of ideas here and apple.com's support page was NO help.
Anyone had this problem or have any ideas I might try? I don't like not being able to play with my toy!

Many thanks,
Dizzykitty
