    iPhoto & iDVD crash will not open..EVER

    well first it was iPhoto crashing, well actually it won't open, and doing all of the permissions routines over and over and now after creating 2 successful DVDs with iDVD, it will not open for some reason, after I added 200 still photos to a project...I AM GETTING ABSOLUTELY LIVID IN DEALING WITH THIS CRAP !! I'D BE BETTER OFF WITH MY OLD WINXP System...I have never had so many unfixable, unexplainable problems...WTF is going on ??
    The system is 18 months old..iMac Dual 2.0, 4GB RAM, 225 HDD with 2 external HDDs...

    I supposed to have this down for a family reunion Saturday and I'm screwed...I've spent days scanning photos...and my MAC doesn't want to do the simplest of tasks...

    MAC= Media Access Control
    Mac=Short for Macintosh

    Now calm down for a second. Go to the folder /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and delete the files com.apple.iPhoto.plist & com.apple.iPhoto.LSSharedFileList.plist. See if that helps iPhoto. Plus if you hold down the 'option' key while launch iPhoto it will ask you where to find the photo Library.

    Now for iDVD go back to the folder /YourHardDrive/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ and delete the file com.apple.iDVD.plist. See if that help iDVD and also use a CD/DVD cleaner disk on the DVD/CD drive to make sure the lens is clean.
