help. please. im desperate

So. This is my issue. I have an ibook g4 that i have listed on ebay as is set back to factory settings. when i went to set it back to fact. i realized that i didn't have the os discs. so i thought hell ill try the ones from my new mac (stupid i know) so i did it and i got into the disk installer and reset the computer back to factory x7 to make sure everything is gone. now the computer wont boot up unless you have the leopard disk in and it only takes you to the disk utlity. i have since found my original os. disks, but all the do is load up to the apple and the goes to a black screen with a curser in the middle that won't move. or if there are no cds in the computer it will boot up to a grey screen with a small folder with an alternating mac logo and question mark. i did the start up with shift help and it says no driver was found for this platform. please help me. im lost.

Check to see if the hard drive failed after you erased the drive to "factory defaults". That drive is probably old and has failed.
